Corpus Christi Texas Gal Michelle Kathleen Greer has the kind of attitude that all women can benefit from.
She doesn't represent anorexia, yet she is a model. She doesn't fear having an athletically fit physique or not being considered "feminine." She totally represents the woman of 2015 who is concerned with how she feels and who she is. You may have seen her on ESPN in November of 1996. She displayed a stunning performance on the '96 Fitness America Series; where she took fifth place overall in this International competition which featured over 90 women from all around the world. Like millions of others, she had seen the Fitness America Pageant on ESPN and ESPN 2. Her mother, for one, was relieved that she would be participating in what she considered more of a true women's sport. After qualifying at the Houston Tx. regional, won by 1995 Nationals runner-up Vicki Anderson, she was on her way to the big show ESPN National Championships in Redondo Beach, California. It was a tough challenge, but Michelle was undaunted. In addition to personal training, modeling and being a dance instructor, Michelle made her living as a construction worker. To see this raven-haired, 5'8" beauty in a swimsuit and heels, few would believe it. Shortly after, Michelle appeared in her own profile on ESPN'S American Muscle; which generated copious fan mail and worked with supplement giant E.A.S. Michelle has gone as far as she could professionally without the help of illegal substances or enhancements. She has been an icon in the body building and fitness world; where many have been afraid of going onto stage next to her. After a long break and struggles in 2005 she experienced the loss of family, a huge move and injuries. In 2012 she made a comeback and decided three weeks before her show to compete again in the Natural shows in Tx. There, she recieved three second place trophies and one third place trophy; all in the same show. Michelle was just getting started and not satisfied with her placing so she entered the Alamo Showdown in S.A.,Tx. Miles Stovall then handed her two first place trophies and the overall competition trophy. She was also awarded her pro status in the WNBF (World Natural Bodybuilding Federation). In November 2012 Michelle competed in Atlantic City at the professional level with WNBF and rewarded her with second place silver medal out of ten girls in her class. She and others were not happy with results however Michelle says: "I will never give up! It was practice for something better and bigger." Like many fitness women from the 90's and today, you can't predict what Michelle's next step will be, you can only be sure that she'll succeed and always have fun in the meantime. ![]() |
